Comments Off on 5 Things Every Business Needs on Their Website
In the internet age, everyone is used to having information accessible at their fingertips. So, if a potential customer visits your website and can’t find the information they need right away, they’re likely to leave your site and find a competitor whose website does answer their questions.
To make sure you aren’t losing customers, make sure your business’s website has these five elements easily accessible:
1. Consistent Branding
First and foremost, make sure that the branding (colors, logo, fonts, etc.) matches the branding on your social media, print materials, physical location, etc. It needs to be immediately clear whether or not your website is the one your visitors are looking for.
2. About Page
Who are you? What do you do? How long have you been around? Prospective customers will want to vet your company to make sure you’re experienced and able to handle their needs. Consider including an About page with your company’s mission, history, and staff so the public can get a more personal look at your business.
3. Products or Services
If you don’t actually provide what your visitor is looking for, they aren’t going to become a customer. Be upfront about your products or services so you don’t waste your website visitors’ time, and they don’t waste yours calling you to find out what you actually do.
4. Work Samples
While this isn’t necessary—or even possible—for all companies, it can provide a huge advantage for customers looking to make a purchase. Being able to see work you’ve done for other clients can help speed up a customer’s decision to buy from you, or at least inspire them to reach out for more information.
5. Contact Information
Lastly, and most importantly, is contact information. Many website visitors are simply looking for how to get in touch with you—either in person, over the phone, or by email. Putting your contact information in the website header and on a dedicated Contact page is a straightforward way of making your website visitors happy.
